Marcon is the artist and maker behind Atelier Nineteen, based in Mellieħa, Malta.
Raised in a Maltese household shaped by craft, with a woodworker father and a mother skilled in sewing and crochet, her work is rooted in the rhythm of making by hand.
Founded in 2011, Atelier Nineteen began with a fascination for timepieces, sustainably transforming antique watch parts into one-of-a-kind jewellery that carries memory, history, and quiet presence.
Her work has been recognised by the Malta Crafts Council, where she was awarded Runner-Up for Most Innovative Product, and was further explored through her solo exhibition Tempus Fugit, a reflection on time, movement, and impermanence.
After graduating with a Master’s in Arts and Cultural Management, Marcon continues to explore her creativity as an independent freelancer within the creative and cultural industry, allowing her artistic practice to evolve alongside research, production, and collaboration.
Today, the practice has expanded beyond jewellery to include handcrafted metal foil ornaments for the home, reviving an ancient craft through contemporary forms inspired by Maltese architecture and cultural symbols.
Each piece is handmade, unique, and created through a slow, meditative process, where making is guided by care rather than speed.
